The carbon-carbon interactions were described within a Tight-Binding formalism (TB) and the carbon-matrix interactions were assumed to be physisorption. Depending on the pore size and topology, various carbon structures can be obtained.

Binary Schemes of Vapor Bubble Growth,We have studied the scanning tunneling microscopy tip interaction with the naturally formed nanotube-like (NTL) structures on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) surface. Shape variations of the NT-like structures, caused by the modulation of scanning parameters, were observed and analyzed.
