Domestic tourism grew considerably, extending from New Caledonia to Wallis. In both territories, COVID-19 management reflected local political and economic issues.

Although interest in local lifeways and heritage increased, with support for practices that would increase self-reliance, with agriculture and fisheries promoted, commodity imports remained valued and radical restructuring was thwarted by continuity and inertia.

From Face to Face to Meeting in Space: The Impact of COVID-19 on the Events Industry in Trinidad animplemented, including lockdowns, social and physical distancing and restricting gatherings to fewer than ten people. That brought MICE to a halt. Revival of the industry required new consideration of venue locations and size, health protocols, virtual events and greater reliance on technology.
