NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA)d value gained in using simulation augmented with haptic interaction, the technological feasibility of the approach and the usefulness in several industrial fields. In order to achieve that, we have developed a high speed approximated simulator, allowing the haptic rendering of complex physically-based models in real-time.

Conventional Force Restructuring, assumptions are not satisfied. This chapter aims at computing differential properties at singular points. A normal vector can be calculated by taking a limit of cross product normal vectors. Higher order differential properties are deduced from the normal vector.

Geometric Reasoning Tools for Assembly-oriented CADn to the modelling and geometric reasoning capabilities necessary to support the applications within it. In particular an algorithm for detection of symmetry and primary axes is described. It is based on matching geometric properties of edge-loops within a b-rep solid model and has the advantage of being able to detect partial symmetry.
