Coda Q Dependence on Time, Frequency and Coda Duration Interval at Mt. Etna, Sicilyect and/or the presence of multiple scattering can be the cause of the Qc dependence on coda duration..Dependence of Qc on time was investigated in an 8-year time interval..An increase of 1/Q seems to occur before the volcanic eruptions but we cannot place a statistical significance on the results.

Analysis of the Seismic Activity Related to the 1982 Eruption of the El Chichon Volcano, Mexicos aspect was probably related to an intense shallow fracturing process..During the 48 h before eruptions, seismic signals probably related to shallow explosions were detected. Location of the seismic events post eruptions revealed the probable location of the magmatic reservoir.

Recent Seismicity at Vulcano Island (Southern Italy) and Adjacent Regions: Time Patterns and Periodir occurrence. On the other hand, both tectonic and volcanic earthquakes display a remarkable periodicity of 420 days, which can tentatively be explained as an effect of cyclic stress variations produced on seismogenetic structures by the Earth’s free nutation process (Chandler wobble).

Preliminary Results from a Field Experiment on Volcanic Events at Kilauea Using an Array of Digital also long-period events because of the similarity in spectral feature between them. We propose preliminary source models for gas-piston events, long-period events and volcanic tremor based on fluid-gas filled crack models, and discuss outstanding problems with these models.

Seismic Image of the Volcanic Tremor Source at Izu-Oshima Volcano, Japanon beneath the caldera. From these results, we deduced a kind of fluid-driven crack model of volcanic tremor in which the outflow of magma through the crack tips generates high frequency tremor and resonates the magma-filled crack.
