Our segmentation into over 350 anatomical regions spans the various body systems. Volume rendering by a memory-independent, partitioned, color and translucency scheme gives realistic human images, with many possibilities for medical education and “edutainment”.

Radiometric correction of color cryosection images for three-dimensional segmentation of fine strucoject (VHP) data base. We devised an adaptive correction that is propagated along a series of parallel slices, taking advantage of spatial coherence between consecutive slices. No blurring is introduced, and fine detail and texture are respected. Results of 3D segmentation of fine blood vessels on the corrected volume are presented.
