VL Sources,laser diodes (LDs) will also become a reasonable choice for VLC light sources. Therefore, this chapter also introduces VL LDs including vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). Finally, a comparison is made between LEDs and LDs in terms of eye safety, output and modulation characteristics.
