Carotid Aneurysmsin diverse etiological patterns. Congenital aneurysms often present as thin-walled saccular lesions near the origin of the internal carotid artery. The origin may also be fusiformly dilated and associated with congenital loops of the vessel. Some poststenotic dilation is not uncommon with focal atheromatous lesions at this site.
