Safety Management in Chemical Industrial Clusters: The State of the Art,owing chapters in this book. The state-of-the-art multiple plant safety management is expounded. Existing models and approaches to deal with multi-plant safety are presented and discussed. The usefulness of game theory as a mathematical instrument to help realizing the concrete implementation of the models is clarified.

An Algorithm to Enhance Safety Collaboration Within Chemical Industrial Parks,rithm that can be used by the Multi-Plant Council to develop an incentive system, is suggested. Furthermore, a stepwise plan to improve cross-company safety management in a chemical industrial cluster is proposed and an illustrative example is provided.

A domino effects game model for the setting of a chemical industrial park, is defined. Probabilities in games are introduced, and a brief explanation is given on how to solve Bayesian coordination games.

Cooperative Incentives Approach in Case of an MPC with Limited Resources,This chapter uses game theory to evaluate different strategic cross-plant precaution collaboration situations. An application of the model is provided and explains how cross-plant precaution in chemical clusters may be enhanced and realized despite limited resources available to the Multi-plant council (MPC).

The main objectives were to resolve practical cooperation difficulties and to indicate new solutions to the old problems by giving practitioners a deeper understanding of the nature of safety incentives/taxes and cooperation.
