US Anatomy of the Upper Superficial Cervical Region,The cervical region has layers that consist of the skin, the subcutaneous or fat layer, and the superficial and deep fascia covering muscles and visceral structures (Fig. 7.1). Understanding the fascial layer and compartments is critical in a clinical setting since infectious and inflammatory spreading can be caused by invasive treatments.
