AggMon: Scalable Hierarchical Cluster Monitoringis located on dedicated nodes in the tree. For database queries and other administrative tasks a synchronous RPC channel, that is completely independent of the hierarchy has been implemented. A browser-based front-end to present the data to the user is currently in development.

Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System for Natural Disaster Preventioncan predict the possibility of tsunami generation within 3 min after a quake. Moreover, we show the system’s activities around the time of the massive earthquake on March 11, 2011, and then describe the necessity for further functional improvements to the system.

Mortar Methods for Single- and Multi-Field Applications in Computational Mechanics, which is addressed by a new dynamic load balancing strategy and tailored parallel search algorithms for computational contact mechanics. For validation purposes, simulation examples from solid dynamics, contact dynamics and FSI will be discussed.
