书目名称 | Suriname Revisited: Economic Potential of its Mineral Resources | 编辑 | Marco Keersemaker | 视频video | | 丛书名称 | SpringerBriefs in Earth Sciences | 图书封面 | | 描述 | This book summarizes the exploration history and provides a framework for assessing the economic potential of the country’s minerals by defining minimal deposit parameters for the various commodities present. Suriname was explored extensively for mineral occurrences in the course of the previous century, indicating the presence of a range of commodities. The country mined and processed bauxite for a century (until 2016), and has an even longer history of small-scale alluvial gold mining; it is currently home to two major gold producers. However, exploration activities have been limited during the past 4 decades as most parts of Suriname’s interior are difficult to access, making geological fieldwork both difficult and expensive. Further, the markets and prices have changed in the interim, which calls for a fresh look at the historic data. | 出版日期 | Book 2020 | 关键词 | Minerals of Suriname; Gold mining in Suriname; Marowijne greenstone; Economic potential for mining; Baux | 版次 | 1 | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-030-40268-6 | isbn_softcover | 978-3-030-40267-9 | isbn_ebook | 978-3-030-40268-6Series ISSN 2191-5369 Series E-ISSN 2191-5377 | issn_series | 2191-5369 | copyright | The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020 |
