Micelle Structure in Aqueous Solutions of Polyoxyethylene Surfactantsd sphere plus a short ranged attractive tail. Far away from the LCB the attractive part is negligible, but becomes important upon approach of the LCB. At higher concentrations the predominant interaction is hard-sphere repulsion. In particular, near the mesophase boundaries micellar growth is minor, if present at all.

At very low micellized concentration (near the CMC), deviation from linearity in C/I vs ϕ (C= micellized surfactant concentration, I=scattered intensity, ϕ=micelle volume fraction) plot towards the direction of decreasing micellar weight was noticed for all surfactants and the deviation is larger for the larger polar head group.
