Niobium-Titanium Superconducting Materials,s of fields greater than about 9 tesla which are made of Nb.Sn tape. At present, filamentary (FM)Nb.Sn appears ready to become widely used, provided that the engineering marketplace can accommodate to its brittle nature in the way that has been possible in the research laboratory. However, at present the number of applications of Nb.Sn is small.

Recent Developments in High-Field Superconductors in Japan,ducting devices. As shown in Figure 1, the Nb.Sn tape produced by the surface diffusion process first exceeded 10 T in 1966 [1], and is being widely used for 15 T class superconducting magnets. Then, the V.Ga tape generated 17.5 T, the highest field record in superconducting state, in 1975.
