Morphological Polarization of the Sensory Cells,surface of the sensory epithelium. The mechanical stimulus probably acts primarily on the hairs of the sensory cells. Secondarily, the energy is converted into action potentials in the sensory nerve fibres innervating the cells.

General Discussion,l to have accurate knowledge of its normal anatomy. Our knowledge of the vestibular sensory regions is, however, still incomplete. This is probably due mainly to the fact that these sensory regions are enclosed in a hard shell of bone, which makes a closer examination difficult.
