Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and the Sensory Neurovascular Component,d TRPA1 channel is directly activated by hydrogen peroxide and a range of lipid peroxidation products. The influence of this on the cardiovascular system is only now beginning to emerge, but a range of exciting, recent findings are summarized in this review.

Redox-Related Genetic Markers of Cardiovascular Diseases, and environmental factors. Large-scale genome-wide association studies are expected to deliver results on the role of redox-related genes in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, but future strategies will also involve more systematic and integrative approaches, including transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic strategies.

Mitochondrial Reactive Oxygen Species in Myocardial Pre- and Postconditioning,nt for the pathological outcome. Indeed, oxidative damage during reperfusion is causative of many of the complications found after ischemia. ROS leading to postischemic myocardial damage come from many sources, including mitochondria, NADPH oxidase, xanthine oxidase, and infiltrated phagocytes [1].
