Application of the General Linear Model (GLM) and Operations Research (OR) Models to the Optimizatich reflect statistically the very complex nature of the environment of ore deposits. The GLM, itself an optimized model, can be used to advantage for optimizing various mineral exploration procedures such as the location and delineation of exploration targets and the evaluation of their economic worth.

,Summary — Conclusion: The Expert System, egies for mineral exploration”, published by Plenum in 1985, the authors suggested a new approach based upon the theory of optimization of sequential systems. The basic theory and the methodology were described with a particular emphasis on detection and target selection as well as the application to the ore search in North America.

Deterministic, Heuristic and Univariate Stochastic Models Used for Optimizing Mineral Exploration, ral exploration sequence as faithfully as possible, but in a simplified manner in order to be tractable. The models belong to four broad categories which are listed here in order of increasing complexity, for didactic purposes, as follows:

Statistical Pooling of Regions to Assist the Optimization of World-Wide Ore Search Programs, tion of ore search programs. The other one is theoretical: to increase the reliability of predictions made on detection and economic parameters which are required for the optimal selection of ore deposit types and regions of search.

Multivariate Bayesian Classification Models: Application to the Optimal Selection of Prospecting Arum exploration. We find ourselves in two types of situations:(i) Control data are available in well-prospected areas with similar geological make-up, or (ii) no control locations are available. The second situation is increasingly common, as explorationists have to deal with more remote and little-k
