One-Dimensional Spatial Solitons in Kerr Media,We give an overview of the experimental activity related to spatial solitons in Kerr or Kerr-like media. We review the results obtained in this area, starting from the early experiments up to the most recent achievements in semiconductors, discussing the formation, control, and application of solitons in one-dimensional structures.
