How Widespread is Violence?,Violence towards social workers has been researched more systematically in the USA than here in the UK. However, in this chapter we are able to include some previously unpublished data from a postal survey which was carried out in 1979 in Wessex. After we have examined the results of this survey we will review briefly some of the American studies.
