Epidemiology of Sleep Disorders in Women and is associated with increased risk for the chronic idiopathic form. In contrary to common belief, REM Behavior Disorder parasomnia is as common in women as in men. This chapter discusses the epidemiology of sleep disorders in women with focus on sleep disordered breathing, insomnia and restless leg syndrome.

Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Pediatric Hypersomnian lead to hypersomnia, however there are numerous other etiologies of hypersomnia including insufficient sleep, sleep fragmentation, and central disorders of hypersomnolence. The pediatric population can have more subtle findings for these disorders, thus thorough history taking is required to ensure accurate diagnosis.
