Reaction Mechanisms in π-Nuclear Interactions-energy nucleon-nucleus scattering. The basic idea of this framework is to treat the Nucleons as infinitely heavy objects. The attractive feature of this approximations is that the complicated many body problem is being reduced to a potential scattering problem with the Nucleons as fixed scattering centers.

Charge and Double Charge Exchange in Pion-Nucleus Scatteringtions provide a practical tool for both mass determinations and spectroscopic studies (e.g. ground state correlations) of nuclei far from the line of stability. Various calculations for these reactions based on multiple scattering theory are discussed for their use in interpreting the observations.
