Alcohol-Infiltrated One-Dimensional Photonic Crystalsuch changes, which can be attributed to an increase in the average refractive index of the structure, allow one to discriminate between different alcohols. Experimental data are in good agreement with numerical results calculated by using the characteristic matrix method, modified to take into account surface roughness of silicon walls.

Room Temperature Hydrogen Sensor Based on Pt/TiO2/MWCNT Compositesigitated ceramic substrates, showed promising hydrogen sensing at low temperatures. On the basis of the results obtained, some hypotheses on the sensing mechanisms operating on these nanostructured hybrid materials have been formulated.
