Petrologic and Geochemical Characteristics of Shales,ichuan Basin. Then, shale lithofacies is introduced to describe the petrologic and geochemical characteristics of shales. It provides an indicator to comprehensively characterize reservoir quality, and is the basis for shale gas exploration and development.

Pore Structure and Pore Types of Shales,such as high-pressure mercury intrusion (MICP) methods, low-pressure gas adsorption, helium pycnometer, provide an estimation of petrophysical properties of shales, including porosity, specific surface area, and pore size distribution.

Regional Geological Background of Sichuan Basin,raton basin to Foreland basin through the Palaeozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras. The Sichuan Basin is rich in hydrocarbons. In this basin, both conventional and unconventional reservoirs have been explored and developed.
