Evidence of Boron-Oxygen Network Modifications in Alkali Borate GlassesIn recent investigations of alkali borate glasses B.O.-Li.O-LiX (X=C1, Br, or I) by light scattering, we find that glasses in the binary and in the ternary system with common O/B ratios do not exhibit identical boron-oxygen networks. A very simple model, based on electrostatic interactions is proposed.
