The components of the proteasome system and their role in MHC class I antigen processing,rt of the so-called hybrid proteasome, exerts a more selective function in antigen presentation. Consequently, the combination of a number of regulatory events tunes the proteasome system to gain maximal efficiency in the generation of peptides with regard to their quality and quantity.
