Synchrotron Light from Extragalactic Radio Jets and Hot Spots,rared and optical wavelengths. Detailed maps of the optical spectral index in the jets of M 87 and 3C 273 do not show the pronounced variations predicted by standard acceleration models (. shock acceleration).

Very High Energy X-Rays from Supernova 1987A,e the bolometric light curve, the detection of infrared and gamma-ray line radiation and the detection of the very high energy X-ray continuum, all connected to the existence and spatial distribution of 0.075 M. of radioactive .Co in the debris of this stellar collaps.

Astrophysics with GRO,bservatories (The Advanced X-Ray Astrophysics Facility: AXAF, and the Space Infrared Telescope Facility: SIRTF) both are still in the planning phase. The four Great Observatories will cover the electromagnetic spectrum from infrared to gamma-ray energies and will lead to an enormous progress in space astronomy.

Atmospheric Variations in Chemically Peculiar Stars,f CP stars. This paper deals exclusively with the classical Ap stars, stars in the spectral range from F to B that show magnetic fields, the CP2 stars in Prestons notation. In these stars we have the possibility to study the interaction of a stellar photosphere with a strong, large scale magnetic field.
