The Wallstent Experience: 1986–1990cal experience. Since March 1986, the coronary Wallstent. has been the most intensively studied endovascular prosthesis in Europe. As a result of cooperation among the six participating European centers, a central core laboratory was set up in Rotterdam to objectively assess the follow up of stents with quantitative coronary angiography.

Restenosis: Directional Coronary Atherectomyers for smooth muscle cell proliferation. Furthermore, a wide lumen following intervention may allow some intimal hyperplastic tissue to grow during the healing process without creating a hemodynamically significant stenosis. There is, therefore, the potential that atherectomy may reduce restenosis.

Introductionhen the issue of restenosis is raised clinically, however, lesion progression which is deemed unacceptable is the more relevant problem. It is difficult to provide a definition of unacceptable restenosis, and any such attempt to do so may result in a somewhat misleading binary assignment of patients
