Interrelation of Respiratory Responses to ,co,, Pedal Rate and Loading Force During Cycle Exercise Dejours. in which both speed and force were varied. Recently, Casaburi et al.. systematically studied the influences of speed and force on the ..-.co. relationship in sinusoidal exercise on a cycle ergometer and found that the dynamic interrelation of .. and .co. was independent of the speed and force imposed during exercise.

Lactate Balance During Low Levels of Exercisell at low levels of exercise and did not attain resting values until work rates exceeded 40% of maximal oxygen uptake. Under these conditions it was found that a quadratic function offered the most consistent description of the lactate-oxygen uptake (La/O.) relationship (Mortimore & Reed, 1982).
