Ancestry Inference in Complex Admixtures via Variable-Length Markov Chain Linkage Models,Markov chain. We test ALLOY in a broad range of scenarios ranging from recent to ancient admixtures with up to four ancestral populations. We show that ALLOY outperforms the previous state of the art, and is robust to uncertainties in model parameters.

The Three-Dimensional Architecture of a Bacterial Genome and Its Alteration by Genetic Perturbationt genes. Such rotations did not lead to large-scale changes in gene expression, indicating that genome folding does not strongly affect gene regulation. Collectively, our data suggest that genome folding is globally dictated by the .S sites and chromosome segregation. Highlight of an article published in Molecular Cell in 2011.

Modeling the Breakage-Fusion-Bridge Mechanism: Combinatorics and Cancer Genomics,ns. We find that a sequence of BFB operations can be found that nearly fits most patterns of copy number increases along a chromosome. We conclude that this limits the usefulness of methods like array CGH for detecting BFB and discuss other implications for understanding mechanisms of genomic instability.
