On a Reliability-Based Shape Optimization of Truss Structures,ers. A two-level method is applied to facilitate the optimization with respect to the two different types of the design variables, where two separate design spaces are introduced, i.e., one for the shape variables and the other for the sizingvariables. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the validity of the proposed methods.

Time Variant Reliability Analysis Utilizing Response Surface Approach, consists of second order polynomials. The coefficients for these polynomials are determined from combinations of the basic variables close to the limit state surface. The method is shown to give highly accurate results while reducing computational efforts considerably in comparison to full analysis
