描述Here it is argued that we need to recover concepts from the distortions of philosophy. In this collection the author shows the disastrous consequences for an understanding of religion of the epistemic divides which can be found in contemporary philosophy of religion; divides between belief and practice, the world and God, religious experience and religious contexts. By closing these divides religious significance is given its proper place.

Epistemic Practices: the Retreat from Reality,The central question of epistemology is whether we can have any contact with reality. How we understand this question, how we think it should be answered, is related to our very conception of philosophical enquiry.

The Dislocated Soul and Immortality, acles, it may be said that, in all these contexts, when this happens we lose contact with the soul in the words. In the present essay we shall see how this happens even when we discuss the notion of the soul.

Where Are the Gods Now? Time for Judgement, orary philosophy of religion. I have said comparatively little about how the assumptions behind those divides affects our understanding of the relation of religious belief to the wider culture in which it finds itself.
