Covariant Quantum Mechanics and Quantum SymmetriesWe sketch the basic ideas and results on the covariant formulation of quantum mechanics on a curved spacetime with absolute time equipped with given gravitational and electromagnetic fields. In the case of pure gravity we prove that the scaling properties of the set of dynamical triangulations with .. vertices are directly provided by the large .. asymptotics of the Weil-Peters son volume of ., .., recently discussed by Manin and Zograf.

VIRGO: An Interferometric Detector of Gravitational Wavesiple of the detector is outlined in Sect. 1. Then the nature of the gravitational waves (Sect. 2) and the amplitude of the signals expected by astrophysical sources (Sect. 3) is discussed. The design and the techniques used to increase the sensitivity of VIRGO are illustrated in Sect. 4 while the status of construction can be found in Sect. 5.
