Ionized Impurity Scattering and Dielectric Enhancement of Mobility in Semiconductors and Semimetalsectric screening. In a nonzero-gap semiconductor the resulting effect is, contrary to a generalized belief, quite small. In a semimetal the effect of dispersive screening is a strong enhancement of the calculated mobility, in good agreement with the experimental data for α-Sn.

Measurement of Luttinger Parameters of the Valence Band of ZnSe by Resonant Brillouin Scatteringand (111) directions. Using the three branch polariton model, which is needed in the case of a degenerate valence band, we fit the experimental Brillouin curves and obtain the values of the masses of the two kinds of excitons. The Luttinger parameters of the valence band are then deduced.
