A comparison of MPI performance on different MPPs,o-point communication. In addition results for global communications and synchronization will be given. This covers a wide range of MPI features used by typical numerical simulation codes. Finally we investigate a core conjugate gradient solver operation to show the behaviour of latency-hiding techniques on different platforms.

Heterogeneous MPI application interoperation and process management under ,,ted Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) system and MPI. PVMPI is transparent to MPI applications thus allowing intercommunication via all the MPI point-to-point calls. Additionally, . allows flexible control over MPI applications by providing access to all the process control and resource control functions available in the PVM virtual machine.

YLC, A C++ Linda system on top of PVM,ed with regard to the expected behaviour of the tuple managing servers and some interesting properties, like automatic resynchronisation, are explained. Finally, possible enhancements related to efficiency and Linda extensions are outlined.

Analyzing the performance of MPI in a cluster of workstations based on fast ethernet, cost, and many applications may no benefit from the advancements in network hardware. In this paper we present an exhaustive study of MPICH implementation of MPI standard for this environment, analyzing added overhead of each layer. Finally, we propose modifications to network interface to reduce the fixed overhead of transmission.
