Entanglement Purification via Entanglement Swappinguous variable states this process can increase the amount of entanglement between separated parties i.e. achieve entanglement .. To show this we will need a generalization of the von Neumann entropy — the finite state entanglement measure — to continuous variables together with a numerical procedure for its calculation.

We prove that all inseparable Gaussian two-mode continuous variable states are distillable. We present a entanglement purification protocol for Gaussian states and discuss a quantum optical implementation of this protocol.
