Effect of Release Height on the Motion of Particle Cloud in Stagnant Water, cloud’s width increased dramatically when sand particles were released above the water surface (i.e., . > 1). In addition, the horizontal dispersion of sand particles began earlier when sand particles were released above the water surface, and particle clouds reached the cloud’s deeper penetration length and width.

Study of Large-Scale Turbulence Horizontal Coherent Structures Under Ice-Covered Conditions,ed ice cover impacts the amplitude of the velocity oscillograms as well as markedly reduces the power intensity of the LSHCSs. Ice covers may also have an effect on the time and length scales of LSHCSs but not a significant one. The results of this work must be viewed as preliminary, as the number of measurements is limited.
