书目名称 | Protein Trafficking in Plant Cells | 编辑 | Jürgen Soll | 视频video | | 图书封面 | | 描述 | The highly structured eucaryotic cell with its complex divisionof biochemical labour requires a distinct protein complement in eachcellular structure and compartment. Nuclear coded and cytosolicallysynthesized polypeptides are specifically sorted to every corner ofthe cell in a post- or co-translational manner. The presence ofseparate genomes and protein translation machineries in plastids andmitochondria requires further coordination not only on thetranscriptional, translational but also most likely on the proteinimport level. Numerous different protein transport systems havedeveloped and coexist within plant cells to ensure the specific andselective composition of every sub-cellular compartment. .This volume summarizes the current knowledge on protein trafficking inplant cells. Aside from the fundamental aspects in cell biology of howspecific pre-protein sorting and translocation across biologicalmembranes is achieved, a major focus is on transport, modification anddeposition of plant storage proteins. The increasing use of plants asbioreactors to provide custom-designed proteins of different usagerequires detailed understanding of these events. .This text is directed not only at | 出版日期 | Book 1998 | 关键词 | Chloroplast; Cytosol; Pathogen; Plant physiology; Polypeptide; Protein; Translation; Transport; biosynthesis | 版次 | 1 | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-011-5298-3 | isbn_softcover | 978-94-010-6229-9 | isbn_ebook | 978-94-011-5298-3 | copyright | Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 1998 |
