Role of retroviruses in the pathogenesis of diabetes with emphasis on the NOD mouse in pancreatic B-cells. Other examples are the multiple low-dose streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetes mouse and the C3H-. mouse. In this chapter, we first review the studies in the latter two mouse models, and then describe our results in the NOD mouse.
