Modularity will promote: reduction in product developmenttime; customization and upgrades; cost efficiencies due toamortization; quality design standardization; and reduction in orderlead time. The purpose of this book is to develop a structuredapproach to the design of products using the concept of modularity,assembly, and manufacturability.
