Stochastic Modelling of Fatigue Crack Growth and other possible uncertainties. A modified crack propagation equation is provided and randomized by introducing a multiplicative noise; if this noise is a white noise the analysis is performed within a framework of diffusion Markov processes.

Fatigue Crack Propagation under Random Loading between the stress-intensity factor and the crack growth rate is assumed and the random nature of the problem enters by permitting some quantities to be stochastic variables. This type of approach is used e.g. by Miller [1] and Nilsson [2]. A different method has been proposed by Kozin and Bogdanoff [3] who employed a Markoff chain model.

Extreme Value Statistics Compatible with Random Field Theorygeneous random fields, some specific results are reviewed for Gaussian fields [1]. The approach further leads to new interpretations of the Weibull and Gumbel Type I extreme value distributions and their parameters.

Extreme Value Theory in Endurance Testing of Ball and Roller Bearingsssions for some statistics are given thus substituting the large number of statistical tables otherwise needed. The emphasis in present paper will be on the practical application of the Weibull statistics especially for estimation of the L.-life.
