They are ideal laboratories for the study of differentastrophysical processes: atomic physics, radiative transfer, stellarwinds, shocks, wind-wind interaction, and the interactionbetween stellar winds and the interstellar medium. In addition, planetary nebulae provide information about the late stages of stellarevolution. .In the last five years studies of planetary nebulae have progressedvery rapidly and new phenomena and insights have been gained. This ispartly due to new observations (e.g. from the Hubble Space Telescope, the ISO satellite and new infrared and millimeter spectrographs) andpartly to the advancement of hydrodynamic simulations of thestructures of planetary nebulae (PN). Many of these new results werereported at IAU Symposium 180 in Groningen, the Netherlands, on August26 to 30, 1996. This symposium was dedicated to one of the pioneers ofPN research: Stuart Pottasch. .These proceedings contain chapters on: ..Introduction to PN with the basic parameters ..Distances ofPN ..The central stars of PN ..The envelopes of PN ..Theevolution from AGB to PN ..The evolution from PN to white dwarfs..PN in the | 出版日期 | Conference proceedings 1997 | 关键词 | LOPES; planet; stellar; stellar evolution; telescope | 版次 | 1 | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-011-5244-0 | isbn_softcover | 978-0-7923-4893-1 | isbn_ebook | 978-94-011-5244-0Series ISSN 1743-9213 Series E-ISSN 2352-2186 | issn_series | 1743-9213 | copyright | Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 1997 |
