In addition, several chapters address medico-legal and forensic aspects of parasomnias..Clinicians and researchers with an interest in sleep medicine will find .Parasomnias. to not only be an important contribution to the literature, but an indispensible guide to identifying, understanding and treating this disorder..

Classification of Parasomniasme, sleep related hallucinations, sleep related eating disorder, and sleep enuresis, as well as parasomnias due to drugs or substances and parasomnias due to a medical condition. As further research clarifies the pathophysiology of these highly varied disorders, it is likely this scheme for classifying parasomnias will continue to evolve.

Sleep Terrors and Confusional Arousals in Adultsently, there is amnesia. Both disorders need to be differentiated from other parasomnias, especially rapid eye movement (REM) behavior disorder (because it carries a different prognosis), from seizures, and from medical and psychiatric conditions.
