Regulation of Blood Flow in Pulmonary Microcirculation by Vasoactive Arachidonic Acid Metabolites – mal experiments. This lung injury results in an extensive, multifocal, and heterogeneously distributed lung damage with alveolar flooding, interstitial edema and microatelectasis. The ability to reduce the perfusion entering into damaged and edematous areas is essentially important in preserving blood oxygenation in ARDS.

Microvascular PO2 Regulation and Chemoreception in the Cat Carotid Bodyable (Vanderkooi et al., 1987; Wilson et al., 1988), we investigated the effects of arterial PCO. and PO. changes on the cat carotid body microvascular PO. (CBM PO.) simultaneously with the chemosensory activity .. The working hypothesis was that PCO. -pH changes do not change CBM PO. but affects the sensory discharge directly.
