描述.This book covers the fundamental and applied characteristics of opportunistic (OP) fungi, plant parasitic nematodes (PPN), and plant interactions. Fungal behavior and cultivation, physiological and molecular changes in relation to hosts and pathogens, and the mechanistic aspects of their management strategies are also covered in this volume. In the diverse agro-climatic conditions of the world, PPN has been identified as the most damaging pest to a variety of commercial and agro-important crop plants. Various chemical nematicides have been widely employed to treat nematode infection in recent decades, but use of these chemicals has been restricted due to widespread concerns about human health and environmental safety. In this regard, rhizospheric microorganisms can act as a first line of defense against pathogen attacks on the root and play a critical role in the management of plant diseases caused by PPN. The OP might directly parasitize the PPN by secreting metabolic chemicals that affect the viability of one or more phases of the nematode‘s life cycle. ..This book is of interest and useful to teachers, researchers, and professionals working on plant nematology, pathology, ecolo

Opportunistic Fungi, Plant, and Nematode Interactions in Vegetable Crops,d other areas of the world, numerous nematodes are associated to various vegetable crops. These include cyst nematodes (. spp.), root-knot nematodes (. spp.), reniform nematodes (. sp.), stem and bulb nematode (. spp.), lesion nematodes (. sp.), lance nematodes (. spp.), etc. Infecting plants by cre

Biochemical Changes in Host Plant Invaded by Opportunistic Fungi and Nematodes,l in plants due to biotic factors mainly phytopathogens such as fungi, bacteria, nematodes, and viruses play an integral role in determining the overall health and functioning of plants. Over the years plants have developed numerous ways to defend themselves against the invading phytopathogens. A nu

Response of ROS in Host Plant Assaulted by Opportunistic Fungi and Nematodes, uch as fungi and nematodes continuously invades farmland causing a significant reduction in yield and quality of produce. Under stress conditions, the host plant’s biochemical pathway is disrupted bringing about abnormal responses and reactions in the plant to compensate for the stress encountered.

Mode of Interactions Between Opportunistic Fungi, Nematode, and Other Soil Microbiota, cular fungal and nematode species involved, the richness and composition of the soil microbiota, and the surrounding environmental circumstances. The term “soil microbiota” describes the vast range of bacteria, fungus, and protozoa that live in soil. Opportunistic fungi are fungi that can cause dise
