New, more accurate interconnect models arerequired to manage the changing physical characteristics of integratedcircuits. Currently, .RC. models are used to analyze highresistance nets while capacitive models are used for less resistiveinterconnect. However, on-chip inductance is becoming more importantwith integrated circuits operating at higher frequencies, since theinductive impedance is proportional to the frequency. The operatingfrequencies of integrated circuits have increased dramatically overthe past decade and are expected to maintain the same rate of increaseover the next decade, approaching 10 GHz by the year 2012. Also, widewires are frequently encountered in important global nets, such asclock distribution networks and in upper metal layers, and performancerequirements are pushing the introduction of new materials for lowresistance interconnect, such as copper interconnect already used inmany commercial CMOS technologies. ..On-Chip Inductance in High Speed Integrated Circuits. deals withthe design and analysis of integrated circu | 出版日期 | Book 2001 | 关键词 | CMOS; Counter; circuit design; computer-aided design (CAD); design process; integrated circuit; interconne | 版次 | 1 | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4615-1685-9 | isbn_softcover | 978-1-4613-5677-6 | isbn_ebook | 978-1-4615-1685-9 | copyright | Kluwer Academic Publishers 2001 |
