描述An international symposium on `Ocean, River and Lakes: Energyand Substance Transfers at Interfaces‘ was held in Nantes, France inOctober 1996. It was the third International Joint Conference onLimnology and Oceanography which brings together specialists of bothenvironments. Considered to be necessary in Europe, this confrontationof two different aspects of common subjects could produce innovativeapproaches. .The main purpose concerns scientific researches relative to theinterfaces between various aquatic environment compartments. Theprincipal treated topics are bioavailability and mobility ofsubstances, influence of biotic and abiotic factors on transfers, andfluxes at the interfaces. It is particularly interesting to note thecontribution of Limnologists and Oceanographers on the impact ofnutrients and pollutants, and flux quantification of river basininputs. .As well as scientists, this book is also of interest to all engineersand consultants involved in teaching and working in aquaticmanagement, restoration and enhancement.

Forecasting of water quality in lakes: A predictive use of a one-dimensional model. Application to la model, based on the coupling of a biogeochemical model of a lake and the use of long term time series of meteorological data. This methodology is applied to lake Bourget (Savoie, France). It allows to obtain both mean and standard deviation (first and second order moments) of the state variables o

Fate of plant detritus in a European salt marsh dominated by , (L.) Aellense dynamics were investigated by the simultaneous estimation of primary production, litter production, decomposition processes and accumulation of organic matter in sediment. We used harvested biomass techniques and the litter-bag method, as well as more recent techniques such as determination of na

Afforestation with , and leaf litter decomposition in streams of northern Spainfungal biomass and macroinvertebrate assemblages on alder and eucalyptus leaf litter in three streams (two headwaters under different forests, and a mid reach) of the Agüera catchment (northern Spain). Whatever the reach, alder always decomposed significantly faster than eucalyptus. Litter contents
