Multigrid and ADI techniques to solve unsteady 3D viscous flow in velocity-vorticity formulation,Multigrid and ADI methods were used to solve unsteady 3D Navier-Stokes equations in Velocity-Vorticity formulation, for the lid-driven cavity test case of spanwise aspect ratio equal to 3:1, at a Reynolds number Re equal to 3200. Results are given for the characteristic times T=50,100,200.

The Challenges of Numerical Integration of the Transient Three-Dimensional Navier-Stokes Equations,quations at moderate Reynolds number. This is a cornerstone for direct numerical simulation intended to turbulent flows. In this introduction, we like to address and summarize a few topics devoted to this kind of numerical problems.

A 3-D Driven Cavity Flow Simulation with Phoenics Code, RS6000/530 work station. The Reynolds number for the simulation is 3200. The computed flow is smooth, due to the artificial viscosity introduced by the code, but significant well-formed three dimensional structures, like the Taylor-Görtler-like longitudinal vortices, appear during the time evolution.
