Modeling of Free Surfaces in Casting Processes A new stabilization of the VoF method without reconstruction is presented for a control volume method on unstructured grids. This method has been inspired by level set methods. The stabilization transforms the hyperbolic equation of transport into a modified parabolic equation. Tests on simple problems and industrial applications are presented.

The appropriate numbering for the multigrid solution of convection dominated problemstem. This leads to convergence in the symmetric case, but does not work if there is dominant convection. In this paper we will describe efficient smoothing methods that depend on the ordering of the unknowns. We provide numerical results illustrating the improved convergence properties of the multigrid algorithm.
