Some Remarks on the Virtual Element Method for the Linear Elasticity Problem in Mixed Form, having reviewed some 2D schemes already studied in the literature, an augmented Lagrangian formulation is introduced, with the aim at designing a method with a minimal number of local degrees of freedom. Several numerical results are presented.

Power Law Approximation Results for Optimal Design Problems,In this note, we show some results related to power law approximations for optimal design and damaging problems. The asymptotics, via .-convergence, leads to supremal functionals whose densities are related to the original ones via suitable asymptotic minimum problems. Some properties of these limiting energy densities are also proven.

Local and Nonlocal Liquid Drop Models,We consider some extensions of Gamow’s liquid drop model for an atomic nucleus. We present a review of the classical model, and then we illustrate some recent developments on a nonlocal variant, where the perimeter term is replaced by the fractional perimeter.
