Nonequilibrium Statistical Mechanics,evin or Fokker-Planck approach is that in order to describe nonequilibrium fluctuations of a (nonlinear) classical system it is necessary to start the analysis from a more fundamental description (master equation) in order to associate a proper model for the noise term in the Langevin differential equation.
