Impact of Clamping Technology on Horizontal and Vertical Process Chain Performance, affects workpiece quality. In this study we evaluate three different referencing strategies in horizontal process chains and discuss the effect of fixtures on workpiece dynamics. In order to achieve an optimal process chain performance an optimization of clamping solutions is crucial.

Improved Quality of Drilled Holes in Laminated Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics via Laser-Preprocesventional drilling (fast and easy to control) and laser drilling (high entry and exit quality of the holes). It is shown, that considerable improvements of the quality of drilled holes can be achieved via laser-preprocessing.

Efficient Production of CFRP Lightweight Structures on the Basis of Manufacturing Considerations atring to interact throughout development and production of CFRP structures. In this context, a novel procedure for the interaction of design and process chain planning at an early design stage is created and demonstrated on a sample structure, a stiffening profile that is used in a new design approach for a side panel of aircraft fuselages.
